Listening committee 1

At study conferences, a listening committee prays and discerns together what has emerged from the teaching we have received collectively. Here is their message from the first night.

James 1:19-20 was given to the Listening Committee in their first meeting together before the conference. It was then referenced in our first session as well.

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

We affirm the invitation to be quick to listen, slow to speak … in order to produce the righteousness that God desires.

Question:  How are you cultivating habits of attention?

We affirm the centrality of Jesus as we enter into the dialogue of this Study Conference.

Question: Are you in?
